Presentation
The Swiss Poetry House is a place for the creation, promotion and dissemination of poetry, and for meetings devoted to Swiss poetry and its defence at international level. From a physical location, it is possible to put into practice interdisciplinary activities ranging from conservation to creation, leading to the dissemination of Swiss poetry between the national languages, as well as abroad. A school outreach plan is currently being devised, the aim of which will be to encourage children to learn to read and write by means of poetry (and oral poetry for younger children), to consolidate a link and an attachment with the language and to enable children to broaden their imagination and expressiveness, as well as to enable them to fully inhabit the language. All of this is accompanied by the major challenge of ensuring that the projects coexist in the four national languages, thereby highlighting Switzerland’s multilingualism, which is one of its greatest intangible assets.
